A former Washington, D.C., police officer who led the DEPARTMENT’s Sexual Minority (LGBT) liaison unit was arrested in Florida over the weekend on suspicion of having sex with a minor, FoxNews.com reported Monday.Brett Parson, 53, was arrested On Feb. 12 in Boca Raton on a warrant issued by the Coconut Creek Police Department in Broward County, Fla., a police official said.Parson was charged with two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.The former officer is being held without bail at a Palm Beach County detention facility, online court records show.Parsons worked for the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., for nearly 30 years.For years, he led the police department’s LGBT communications department.He retired in February 2020 and told US media in an interview the same year, “I will remain with the Metropolitan Police Department as a part-time reserve officer, honored to serve with the Reserve and to help the institution I love in any way I can.”The Metropolitan Police said it had discharged Parson from the reserve team after learning of his arrest on Monday morning.(Edit: HHJ)
